Jacob Muratore

Cello

He/Him/His

Cellist Jacob Muratore is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Jacob received his undergraduate education at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music and received his Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in December, 2021. His primary teachers include Regina Mushabac and Uri Vardi. Jacob has also worked extensively with Daniel Pereira (Cleveland Institute of Music) and Mark Rudoff (Ohio State University). Other significant mentors include Parry Karp (Pro Arte Quartet), James Hirt (Baldwin Wallace), and Deborah Price (Chamber Music Connection). Jacob’s experience with the Feldenkrais Method of somatic education allows him to teach with a unique, whole-body perspective.

Jacob’s teaching philosophy involves getting to know a student’s personality and learning style, and adjusting his teaching style to match. This means the same concepts may be taught in very ways, depending on the student. Jacob believes it is his job as a teacher to bring out and celebrate the qualities that make each person unique. Curiosity and tangential thinking are hallmarks of Jacob’s teaching style: he has been known to incorporate elements of dancing, singing, sports, and science into cello lessons.
