Monroe Street Hard Hat Club: The arts center will be rolling out several promotions throughout the duration of construction to keep things fun and interesting! The first is in conjunction with the Monroe Street Merchants Association called the Monroe Street Hard Hat Club! The Monroe Street Hard Hat Club is open to ages 3-10. Just stop by the arts center with your child to enroll starting Monday, March 12. All are welcome you do not need to be enrolled in an arts center program to participate. Hard Hat Club members then come back each month for a new construction prize! Stay tuned for new promotions in the coming months.
Construction Starts March 12: Monroe Street road construction begins in March, and will go through November 2018. Beginning March 12, traffic will be down to one lane inbound from Odana to Regent Street. There will be no parking on Monroe Street for the remainder of construction. If you usually come from the east, a possible alternate route will be Regent St. to Commonwealth Ave.
During the duration of construction, streets that intersect with Monroe Street may also be periodically closed. No two consecutive intersections will be closed at the same time, so if the side street intersection you usually use is closed, the next one should be open. Please note Knickerbocker Street will be closed at Monroe Street. No turns will be allowed from Monroe Street to Knickerbocker Street and vice versa. This closure will last approximately three weeks.
Access to our parking lot will be open at all times from one of our two driveways. Advance notice will be given if our parking lot entrance needs to be temporarily closed. Beginning March 12, all MSAC employees are prohibited from parking in our lot to free up spaces for our families. Please note parking is still first come, first serve; please allow yourself extra time to park, or find parking, if needed.
For up to date information on construction, and how it may affect your commute to the arts center, please like us on Facebook and continue to visit our website. We will update these areas regularly, as conditions change day to day. Thank you for sticking with MSAC while we get a new road, and helping us survive and thrive together! Special Summer Session Policies During Construction :
To help you get to and from the arts center with ease this summer, MSAC is offering a few new options to make pick up and drop off as smooth as possible. Please note there will be no parking on Monroe Street, and parking in our lot will be reserved for families attending Early Childhood Classes, Little Scholars Camp, and other families with children under 5.
Summer Camp Drop Off/Pick Up Times:
Students can be dropped off as early as 30 minutes prior to any camp start and picked up no later than 30 minutes after any camp end. This is to allow adults time to find parking and come into the center to sign your student out.
Morning Summer Camp Drive-thru Lane:
There will be a drive-thru lane in our parking lot for adults to drop off students with a camp supervisor who will escort them into the building. You won’t have to leave your car! If you are not dropping off in the lot, plan enough time to find street parking.
Afternoon Summer Camp Late Pick Up:
As always, ages 5-10 campers can stay until 4:30 PM by enrolling in our Open Art Studio class that runs Mon-Fri from 3:00-4:30 PM. See page 13 for details.
As always, please contact us with any questions! 608-232-1510.
