2018 SUMMER ART CAMPS: Ages 8-10

$150/camp $300/full day (morning and afternoon camp, including lunch supervision)
unless otherwise noted.

Week 1: Monday, June 11 -Friday, June 15
#102 Artist Exploration • 9:00-11:30 AM
Use the inspiration of famous artists from around the world to make your own work of
art. Learn painting and drawing techniques inspired by the masters.
#103 Sculpture • 12:30-3:00 PM
Get your creative juices flowing in this class! Using Model Magic, Sculpey, air-dry clay,
and found objects, make sculptures worthy of an art museum.

Week 2: Monday, June 18- Friday, June 22
#202 Cartooning & Illustration • 9:00-11:30 AM
Design your very own comic. Create a subject matter and illustrate your storyline. Add
color and watch your comic book come to life (This is not a Manga style class).
#203 Community Art • 12:30-3:00 PM
Work together as a community of artists to learn about public art. Use inspiration to
create a class project.

Week 3: Monday, June 25- Friday, June 29
#302 Mosaics • 9:00-11:30 AM
Use small tiles and glass to refurbish plates, frames, and more! Finished mosaics can be displayed inside or out. Cost is $160 (includes $10 supply fee).
#303 Cosmic Arts • 12:30-3:00 PM
Illustrate constellations, paint the Milky Way and nebulas! Learn new painting and
sculpture techniques as we expand our knowledge of space.

Week 4: Mystery A la Carte Week! You pick: Monday, June 2-Friday, July 6
NO CLASS Wednesday, July 4
Choose one or more days this week (except Wednesday). Each class is independent
and projects will not carry over. Teachers choice of projects that will vary in media and
subject matter. Please specify which camp(s) when enrolling. Lunch is included when
enrolled in both morning and afternoon camp.

Week 5: Monday, July 9-Friday, July 13
#502 Manga • 9:00-11:30 AM
Learn to draw in the Japanese style of Manga. Create your own characters and design
a background for your storyline.
#503 Creature Creations • 12:30-3:00 PM
Ugly dolls! Creatures of the deep! Monsters from Mars! Collage, paint, sculpt, and sew
different wonders of the imagination.

Week 6: Monday, July 16- Friday, July 20
NEW! #602 Art We Wear • 9:00-11:30 AM
Use countless materials to create costumes, wearable art and more! We will explore
artists and cultures as we create art we wear.
#603 Making Miniatures • 12:30-3:00 PM
Try your hand at interior design! Decorate a mini room with handmade furniture and
decorations. Create worry dolls, mini artworks, miniature gardens and much more.

Week 7: Monday, July 23- Friday, July 27

Learn about the world of fibers and try out new art processes. This class may involve
fabric dyeing, papermaking, and weaving.

Week 9: Monday, August 6- Friday, August 10
#902 Community Art • 9:00-11:30 AM
Work together as a community of artists to learn about public art. Use inspiration to

#903 Printmaking • 12:30-3:00 PM
Learn about different types of printmaking and have fun experimenting with various
techniques! Create monoprints, relief prints and collographs.

Week 10: Monday, August 13- Friday, August 17
#1002 Prehistoric ARTifacts • 9:00-11:30 AM
Cave paintings, dinosaurs,woolly mammoths and more will help us navigate our way
through ancient history. Prepare to paint, sculpt and construct.
#1003 Making Miniatures • 12:30-3:00 PM

Week 11: Monday, August 20- Friday, August 24
NEW! #1114 The Art of Time Travel • 9:00-11:30 AM
Build a time machine and travel to the pyramids of Egypt, explore medieval times, and
explore the pioneer life, to name a few. We will use our imagination as we explore
history through art.

Cancellation Policy:
Art Camps:
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Refunds are permitted, less a $15 administrative fee prior to June 15. No refunds on Art Camps after June 15. After June 15, you will receive a nonrefundable credit on your account for 50% of the class cost.

All other classes:
Refunds are permitted, less a $15 administrative fee, up to two weeks prior to the start
date. No refunds on cancellations with less than two weeks notice, instead you will
receive a credit on your account for 50% of the original fee of the class.
