2017 SUMMER ART CAMPS: Ages 8-10

$150/camp $300/full day (morning and afternoon camp, including lunch supervision) unless otherwise noted.
NO CLASS MONDAY, JULY 3-TUESDAY, JULY 4

Week 1: Monday, June 12 -Friday, June 16
#102 POP Art 9:00-11:30 AM
Make your art POP! We will make our own Pop Art self-portrait, explore the cubist style of Picasso and work on printmaking skills using line, texture, balance, and variety.

#103 World Travelers Week 12:30-3:00 PM
Students will immerse themselves in the arts, culture and architecture of different countries every day; Japan, Germany, India & more. We will study drawing, painting and modeling techniques from these regions.

Week 2: Monday, June 19- Friday, June 23
#202 Prehistoric ARTifacts 9:00-11:30 AM
Cave paintings, dinosaurs and woolly mammoths are just some of what will help us navigate our way through ancient history. Prepare to paint, sculpt and construct in this class.

#203 Mosaics 12:30-3:00 PM
Use small tiles and glass to refurbish plates, frames, and more! Finished mosaics can be displayed inside or out.  Cost is $160 (includes $10 supplies fee).

Week 3: Monday, June 26- Friday, June 30
#302 Nature Art 9:00-11:30 AM
Learn ways to paint with pigments from nature make sun prints and dye fabric. We will focus on creating art the natural way.

#303 Making Miniatures 12:30-3:00 PM
Try your hand at interior design! Decorate a mini room with handmade furniture and decorations. Create worry dolls, mini artworks, miniature gardens and much more. 

Week 4: Wednesday, July 5-Friday, July 7 **NO CLASS JULY 3RD-4TH
$90/ camp, $180/ full day
#402 Artist Exploration 9:00-11:30 AM
Use the inspiration of famous artists from around the world to make your own work of art. Learn painting and drawing techniques inspired by the masters.

#403 Printmaking 12:30-3:00 PM
Learn about different types of printmaking and have fun experimenting with various techniques! Create monoprints, relief prints and collographs.

 Week 5: Monday, July 10- Friday, July 14
#502 Fibers 9:00-11:30 AM
Learn about the world of fibers and try out new art processes. This class may involve fabric dyeing, papermaking, and weaving.

#503 Creature Creations 12:30-3:00 PM
Ugly dolls! Creatures of the deep! Monsters from Mars! Collage, paint, sculpt, and sew different wonders of the imagination.

Week 6: Monday, July 17- Friday, July 21
# 602 Drawing & Painting 9:00-11:30 AM
Combine your drawing and painting skills. We will review drawing techniques and learn new ways to paint. Come ready to learn and create your own masterpiece.

#603 Cosmic Arts 12:30-3:00 PM
Illustrate constellations, paint the Milky Way and nebulas! Learn new painting and sculpture techniques as we expand our knowledge of space. 

Week 7: Monday, July 24- Friday, July 28
#702 Manga 9:00-11:30 AM
Learn to draw in the Japanese style of Manga. Create your own characters and design a background for your storyline.

#703 Sculpture 12:30-3:00 PM
Get your creative juices flowing in this class! Using Model Magic, Sculpey, air-dry clay, and found objects, make sculptures worthy of an art museum.

 Week 8: Monday, July 31- Friday, August 4
#802 Creature Creations 9:00-11:30 AM

#902 Cartooning & Illustration 9:00-11:30 AM
Design your very own comic. Create a subject matter and illustrate your storyline. Add color and watch your comic book come to life (This is not a Manga style class).

 Week 10: Monday, August 14- Friday, August 18
#1002 NEW! Community Art 9:00-11:30 AM
Work together as a community of artists to learn about public art. Use inspiration to create a class project.

#1003 Fibers 12:30-3:00 PM
Focus on working as a team to build, imagine and investigate varied materials and mediums. Create individual projects, as well as group projects during the week. Emphasis will be put on collaboration and cooperation.

Week 11: Monday, August 21- Friday, August 25

Cancellation Policy:
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Full refunds or exchanges are permitted up to two weeks prior to the registered camp or class. Exchanges depend on space available in the desired camp or class. No refunds on cancellations with less than two weeks notice.
