Using a variety of media and techniques we will focus on the kingdom of animals for inspiration. Create animal puppets, pictures, sculptures and more in this class.

Splash into the world of mermaids, dolphins, jellyfish and more! Dive into a deep sea adventure and develop your 2D and 3D art skills.

Create your own comic book hero, storyboard and characters. Learn the basics of comic creation: drawing skills, character development, color selection and more.

Use your imagination as well as your hands to become your own art monster! Paint, fabric, imagination and modeling clay will bring your pet monster to life.

#400 Mixed Media Art Studio 9:00-11:30 AM
Artwork comes in many shapes and sizes as well as wide variety of mediums. Both traditional and modern art making methods will be explored with highlights including collage, printmaking, watercolor, paper and more!
#401 Illustrators and Authors 12:30-3:00 PM
Draw inspiration from well-known children’s book authors and illustrators to start the creative process of art making. We will look at the stories and drawings of Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss, and Shel Silverstein to name a few.
Week 5: Monday, July 15-Friday, July 19

Explore beginning drawing and painting techniques. Paint with watercolor, tempera, and acrylic paint. We will practice our skills and learn new ones.
#501 Nature Creations 12:30-3:00 PM
Discover ways to create art with nature. We will use natural pigments, learn sun printing, and find art materials outside.
Week 6: Monday, July 22- Friday, July 26

Become your own superhero and channel your inner Spiderman or Wonder Woman! Create, draw and construct your superhero’s story with drawing and sculpting materials.
#601 All Things Alien & Robot 12:30-3:00 PM
A summer staple at MSAC! Beep Boop Bop…Make your own “out of this world” alien, and construct a way cool robot using lots of unique materials. Cut, glue, slice and paint your way to a far-out creation.
Week 7: Monday, July 29- Friday, August 2

Science and art go hand in hand. Work with art materials to explore all things science. Conduct artistic experiments with new materials and discover exciting methods of creating art.

Using a variety of media and techniques, focus on animals as the subject of your masterpiece. Draw, sculpt, and mix up your very own animal and its environment.
Week 8: Monday, August 5- Friday, August 9

Explore beginners drawing and painting techniques. Paint with watercolor, tempera, and acrylic paint. We will practice our skills and learn new ones.

Learn about the world of fibers! This class will involve fabric dyeing, papermaking and weaving.

Knights, castles, dragons, kings, fairies, princesses, and other enchanted themes
are the inspiration for this imaginative class. Join in on the fun and create
your own fairytale world.

Get your creative juices flowing in this class! Use Model Magic, Sculpey, air-dry clay,
and found objects to create expressive works of art.

Make art from the Prehistoric era! Use paint, clay, and mixed media materials to make dinosaurs and artifacts from millions of years ago.

Let your paintbrush be your magic wand! Tickle your wildest imagination as we paint, sculpt and build our way through a week of magical art making.
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Refunds are permitted, less a $15 administrative fee prior to June 15. No refunds on Art Camps after June 15. After June 15, you will receive a nonrefundable credit on your account for 50% of the class cost.
